Everywhere we look in this culture it seems as though politicians, pundits, and ne’re-do-wells are pushing some new immoral or contrived ungodly ideology on us. Where once there was order, chaos is king. Where once there was peace and security, now lawlessness is on the rise. Where integrity and truth were the norm, falsehood, misdirection, and outright lying are perpetuated.
If there was ever a time for followers of Christ to speak out it is today. Even if the truths of Christianity are ignored by the masses, perhaps a few will find Christ. However, it is more than just words. Actions dictate our true character. If we are to honor God, we must speak and live by his principles so that we might help shed some light into the darkness that is swallowing our world
Sin and evil are at the center of each current crisis. Satan is conducting the government, social media, the national media, and individuals like a concerto. He gives the cue, and another infectious variant emerges to damage every aspect of our lives. On the next downbeat, he influences someone to shout for the continued murder of an innocent baby as it is torn from the safety of the womb. Next he signals for the drumbeat that calls the forces of evil to turn willing humans into evil agents who stand against law and order. He encourages leaders to legislate wickedness while shifting blame and pretending philanthropy.
No matter how much exculpatory evidence comes to light, Satan finds a servant in the justice system who willingly refuses to pursue the truth. Our entire system seems to be on the payroll of everything ungodly.
Lest we forget, as time comes closer to its final act, circumstances and situations on this earth will become absolutely unbearable.
“unless that time of calamity is shortened, not a single person will survive. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.”
(Matthew 24:22)
Our hope is not in the government or the institutions of man. Our hope is in the God of order and truth, the God who is in control. He promises victory over evil and death. He presents us with the hope that even in the darkest times, he will uphold us by his mighty right hand. Therefore we have no reason to fear. We have no cause to despair.
God is still able and still on the throne. He will vanquish his foes and the evil that seems to be winning. Evil is temporary and will be destroyed, as God has planned since before the beginning of time.
“10 Then the devil, who had deceived them, was thrown into the fiery lake of burning sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever…15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.” (Rev. 20:10,15)
