The bible says in Proverbs 11:14, ” Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisors.” I believe this is true in other areas of life.Without wise leadership, families are destroyed. Without wise, biblical leadership ministry fails. Without wise leadership finances are destroyed.

James 1:5-8 tells us that God has a solution. “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask make sure your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed about. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.

We often talk about trusting God for guidance and direction, but we still have the controls. We look around us to see the signs and try to apply our own wisdom, common sense, and experience to solve situations designed to be solved only by God’s intervention.

When we ask, is our faith in God alone? Are we seeking God’s rubber stamp of approval for what we believe is the best course of action? Are we negotiating with God based on some psychological, emotional or selfish suggestion or conclusion at which we have already arrived? Do we really trust God to bring the answer?

In order to receive God’s best, we must place our complete trust in him. Nothing we face is above his pay grade. He is all knowing, while our understanding is limited. There is no puzzle he cannot solve, no riddle he cannot answer and no trial he cannot overcome. If we belong to him we should surely rely on him instead of ourselves. That would assure victory and reduce the mistakes committed and injuries incurred by trusting in ourselves.
