Since 2013, it is estimated that collective knowledge is doubling every 12 months. if that is the case, should humanity not be on a trajectory to be a society of geniuses? A man named Buckminster Fuller developed a tool called the “Knowledge Doubling Curve.” Based on his findings, by 1900 knowledge was doubling only approximately every century. With access to modern supercomputers and technological breakthroughs today, will we one day be smarter than God?

Are we smarter today than we were 100 years ago? Technologically, the answer is absolutely. Sociologically, I would say not really. War is still an issue all over the world. Drug abuse, human slavery, hate, violence, and other social contaminates are on the rise.

Over the last century, people have been convinced that there is no God, or that we are Gods unto ourselves. We have become more selfish, more ideologically separated from those who disagree with our notions, and less compassionate towards others. The philosophical ideas generated by relativism and humanism are running amuck, destroying lives, families and preparing for the eventual will ruin our society.

Man is not God and will never be God. We will never be smarter than God. We can explain away many things with our collection of data, but there is ultimately a Primary Cause for the existence of this ordered universe. The God of the Bible is the originator of this existence. He has no rivals. he is supreme and sovereign. Our finite knowledge would not fill a thimble in comparison to his wisdom and understanding.

4 Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his nameā€”and his son’s name? Tell me if you know! (Prov.30:4)

The God who is everywhere present, all knowing, all powerful and never changing has no equal. He is called Yahweh, Jehovah, and Elohim. No other God controls any aspect of this existence. No other God has the power to create or save. For those who understand his great grace, mercy, and love there is no question concerning his existence.

The concept of a loving God who created this beautiful world is so simple a child can comprehend it, yet so complex that the most learned people cannot. No matter how “smart” we become, the scripture says that we cannot enter into a relationship with the One True God, unless we come with childlike faith.

Are you trying to conquer some knowledge gap before you are willing to surrender to God’s grace? Do you have too many unanswered questions. Have you listened to the skeptics and those who deny God’s existence? One day, every knee will bow whether they believe or not. No amount of knowledge will change God’s predetermined plans for those who reject him.
